元々日本語だった日常英語🇯🇵→🇺🇸 4分だけのプチ英会話レッスンへ…3...2...1...BLAST OFF🚀

Luckily for me I have many lovely lady students. So I love teaching English!! And because I have a lot of female students, I often hear my students say, “I make up my face.” Well ”make up my face” is not real English. “Make up” is both a noun and a verb in English, but the verb “make up” does not mean 「メークする」 (make upというのは、メークをするという意味ではないです。make upって「仲直りする」ことですよ！make up の名詞は化粧のことだけど動詞にすると最初は put on か wearを言わなくてはいけないんですね。あと、wear と put on の意味も違います。　それじゃ、let`s practice!・In the morning I take a shower and then put on my make up. (朝シャワーを浴びてメークする☆)・Did you put on make up this morning? (今朝化粧した？)・I`m not wearing make up today. (今日化粧してない。)・Let`s put on make up! (メークしましょう！)・Let`s make up! (仲直りしよう！)・I made up with my boyfriend. (彼氏と仲直りした☆☆)Use “put on” to describe the action of applying make up. 「put on」の過去形は現在形と変わらないから「I put on make up」を日本語にすると「メークする」と「メークした」の意味になります。もし英語で「I put on make up this morning」って言ったら this morning はもう終わってるからもちろん過去の意味になります。☆「I make up my face」って言ったら意味は通じるけどちょっと変な気がします。で、もし、「I made up with my face」って言ったら自分の顔と仲直りしたという意味になるのでそれを言ったら「え？！自分の顔とけんかしたの？？」って聞かれるかもしれない^_-☆☆英語で「人・と・」って言う時は”with”も入ります。例えば、”I made up withmy boyfriend,” or “I had lunch with my friend today.” And that`s all for today.  ♪Learning is the greatest joy♪

メイクをする・仲直りする

和英辞書に色んな役に立てない通訳が書いてあるんですよ。誰が書いたか分からないけどあなたが Real English を話したいなら和英辞書を捨てた方がいいと思いますよ！　Anyway…here is one word that is strange:丁度. If you look up 丁度 in a Japanese-English dictionary the word “just” appears. もしアメリカで「丁度です」か「丁度いただきます」って言いたい時に “just” って言ったら相手が “just what?!” って聞くでしょう・・・。　金額だと・・・It`s the exact amountと言います。But sometimes “just” can collocate with other words to form useful expressions. ▼For example…・just the right size (丁度いいサイズ)・just the right time (丁度いいタイミング)Well, that`s all for today. I hope you think this short blog was…well…just the right length!
