Hi everybody!
Today at IO ENGLISH WORLD I asked one of my students, “What’s Ningyocho like?” And he said it’s a “bed town” and then asked me if it’s English. And I said, no, it’s not. So I taught him this simple and useful phrase:
a residential area (住宅地)
I don’ think there is a simple phrase for 「ベッドタウン」 in English but it is definitely NOT Real English, but “a residential town” is very close so let’s use it!
▼Here are some example sentences:
・Ningyocho is an old part of Tokyo and a residential area. (人形町は下町で、ベッドタウンです。)
・Do you live in a residential area? (住宅地に住んでますか?)
And that’s all for today! Have a great weekend (^_^)/
